You may remember The Neverhood as the lovely, claymation adventure game with one of the best soundtracks of all time. But there’s an equally large chance that you don’t remember The Neverhood at all, as the PC game was released way back in 1996 and has been dormant since.
Developer Bazinga Studios says it would like to change that and bring the game to mobile platforms. The company tells us it’s currently negotiating the licensing contract, but can’t say any more for the moment.

Personally, we couldn’t be more excited to take another trip to The Neverhood, but we’re not quite sure how common that is. You know what this calls for! A poll.

AppBlaster
Gun accessories for your Wiimote or Move wands are old hat but, we can’t help but be at least a little intrigued by this rifle-like dock for the iPhone. The appBlaster is an accessory from apptoyz designed specifically for use with the company’s Alien Attack iOS game. Slide in your iDevice and fire up the AR shooter and you'll be treated to a bit of Piper-vision, exposing the invisible aliens in our midst. Pull the triggers and two capacitive pads touch the screen to fire at the invaders that only you can see. The appBlaster is available for pre-order now at RED5 for £19.99 (about $32) and will official hit shelves on July 7. Check out the PR after the break.

Singapore-based developer Rockmoon has created a promising game prototype using Kinect, an iPhone and the Unity engine. As seen in the video below, one player controls a spaceship while another controls a pair of gatling guns using the iPhone. It’s like Lucky and Wild meets Sewer Shark! Kind of.

EVOtainment System gives brings emulation to the HTC EVO on a Wiimote and a prayer
In a world full of cheap, plastic Wiimote accessories, aisles that overflow with flimsy little steering wheels for Mario Kart, one man found purpose. One man found something good to do with them. One man created the ridiculous contraption you see above. That man is Jack Malone, crafter of this the so-called EVOtainment System. It’s a Wii racing wheel from Nerf that’s been drilled out and augmented to enable a Classic Controller to join the party, backed with a strip of 3M Dual Lock. Up top a universal GPS mount clings desperately on to his HTC EVO, which connects over Bluetooth to the Wiimote. It’s emulatory bliss in a design that’s only a little bit less chunkier than the Game Gripper.

We’ve been jonesing to see a life-size version of Angry Birds since Neil Patrick Harris teased us with his chicken catapult during the VGAs. Yesterday on Conan, we got our wish — not with real-life poultry, mind you, but with bird-shaped balls and really unstable Ikea furniture.

Razer may be best known for its well-regarded line of angular, extreme gaming peripherals for the core PC gaming set – think mice, keyboards, mouse pads and yes, motion controllers – but the San Diego-based company is looking to branch out into an area you may not have expected: efficient (and graphically anemic) netbook computers.

While it’s an unusual move for the peripheral maker, it’s not a departure from their core competency. Gaming laptops may have whittled down the bulk required for a high-end gaming experience but they’re still far from portable. Inversely, netbooks are steadily becoming increasingly capable laptop replacements, but fall short when performing the most demanding tasks … like video gaming.

Even though games like Infinity Blade can be great fun on the iPhone, there’s no getting around the fact that touchscreen-centric, buttonless devices don’t offer the best gaming ergonomics. A modding project gone horribly right, however, might just fix that right up for all of us. Shane Wighton set out to build a robot to try and beat his favorite iPhone game, replete with a webcam and an Arduino setup, but in the process of doing so he “just realized that [he'd] made a mechanism to play tilt based phone games with a joystick.” Yes indeedy, one of the most awesome DIY gaming accessories was built by fluke as much as design. See it revolutionizing mobile gaming just after the break.
