There’s something delicate about the word “bracelet” – that is, until you see the Armadillo: 161, the latest from bold jewelry maker RogueDZN. Named after its 161 parts, the Armadillo is composed entirely of G5 aerospace grade titanium- the same super strong material used to build spacecraft, naval ships, and armor plating. Using the same software used to create the USA’s F22 joint strike fighter, each curve is obsessively perfected in 3D space, a feat impossible to achieve by hand.

Individually serial numbered, each link is comprised of 8 separate custom machined pieces. The off-set angled clasp has a captured thumbscrew that allows for extremely easy opening and closing. The secondary thumb screws integrated into the latch, are actually integrated mini-wrenches to adjust the bracelet. One is the Rogue custom tri-blade wrench and the other is a T5-Torx wrench.

Designer: Rogue DZN

Tokyoflash is on the loose once more, and this time it’s introducing a concept that has been in the works for months on end. The Kisai Night Vision — which was made official moments ago, first appeared on the company’s blog as a mockup in August of 2010 — and as they say, “what a difference a year makes.” As of today, the LED wristwatch is up for grabs, constructed with black stainless steel, sub-surface LEDs, a hexagonal form factor and support for USB recharging. Despite your initial assumptions, it’s actually capable of displaying both time and date, and there's even a built-in alarm with a “light-up animation.” Fancy! It's available in black with blue, green or red LEDs, and if you order soon, you'll be able to snag one for $129 / £79 / €89; procrastinators will face a sticker of $149 / £91 / €103. Take a shufti in the gallery below.

Nike MAG 2011 (McFly) – Officially Unveiled

The 2011 NIKE MAG – It’s About Time. – Nike

Many proclaimed it to be the “greatest shoe never made.”. Some naysayers even gone as far as calling it “vaporware”. But all the changed this afternoon at the back lot of Universal Studios as Nike CEO Mark Parker and designer Tinker Hatfield unveiled the Nike MAG 2011. Aptly dubbed the Air McFly, or Marty McFly’s shoe, the shoe is an almost exact replica of the original movie prop in the 1989 Back To The Future II. Worn by the film’s hero, time traveler Marty McFly, played by actor Michael J. Fox, the futuristic footwear by Nike featured a auto-lacing system and electrical lighting scheme. While the Nike Air MAG 2011 will not include the auto-lacing feature, it will include the same exact silhouette and the LED glowing panels as the prop. The shoe will also be the very first footwear in Nike’s product line to have electroluminescent technology, with the ability to glow for 5 hours after each charge.

Since day one of its design phase, Nike’s been adamant about support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. So as actor Michael J. Fox stroll onto The Late Show with David Letterman later this evening, Nike will will unveil an eBay charity site to auction off 1500 pairs of the Nike MAG, or 150 pairs per day for the next 10 days. 100% net profit will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation directly. Furthermore, a matching donation of up to $50 million will be given by search giant Google‘s Co-Founder Sergey Brin and his wife Anne Wojcicki, a DNA specialist. The goal, as stated by Mark Parker, is the eradication of Parkinson’s Disease, which afflicts both Michael J. Fox and Brin’s late mother. The charity auction starts tonight at nikemag.eBay.com and ends on September 18th. See more renderings of the final product along with an introductory video after the jump.

Charity Auction Start Date: September 8th, 2011 (Tonight!) | 11:30 pm EST / 8:30 pm PST
Charity Auction End Date: September 18th, 2011 (Sunday)

Snow Peak’s minimalist iPhone case solution

Having tried a few different iPhone cases, I was skeptical that any could offer protection without majorly detracting from the sleek form of the phone itself—much less one designed by a camping gear brand. But after shattering my second iPhone, it was time to get serious. The minimalist design of Snow Peak’s cover seemed to fit the bill.

Made from a single piece of titanium, it adds negligible weight and bulk, while incorporating a clip-in lanyard. The ability to hang your phone around your neck might seem like a nerd-level accessory (I’m also guilty of sporting eyeglasses chains on occassion), but the usefulness it lends, from biking with it to cooking and grocery shopping, makes it undeniably chic.

Most importantly, the clean design of Snow Peak’s case most closely matches the iPhone’s aesthetic. Though mine has suffered a few dings and scratches in the weeks I’ve been using it, the case looks like a seamless extension of the silver sides of the phone. For the logo-averse, it conceals the Apple logo, though it does mean I can’t check my lipstick in its mirrored surface.

Limited to an edition of 300 and on sale as of today, the case sells from Snow Peak for $120 each—no, titanium does not come cheap.

Boot leather and tennis build make for an odd pairing but lovely match. The Nike Match Classic Pony/Black sports a butter soft upper with embossed branding and timely perforations.
