America can’t say that it wasn’t sniped by Malaysia Airlines when it comes to having iPads in the airport, but we’ll take late over never any day of the week. New York’s JFK airport is now home to 200 iPad tablets, all of which are located within Delta’s terminal. They’re being installed in cooperation with OTG Management, mostly in eateries — “Croque Madame, a French restaurant at Gates 21 and 22 in Terminal 2; and Bar Brace, a casual Italian restaurant at Gate 15 in Terminal 3.” As you’d expect, customers can order food from the iPad in order to have it delivered directly to them. It lacks that certain Sonic Drive-In appeal, but the ability to also use the iPad to check your email, have a look at the latest sports scores and attempt to jailbreak it for the next patron more than compensates. OTG doesn’t plan to put a time limit on the usage here (you’ll still need to make your connecting flight, remember?), and its hoping to engage in a similar installation over at LaGuardia in due time. No word on whether these things will censor any and all Google searches on “uncomfortable TSA pat-downs,” though.

DMC-12 x Nike 6.0

Over the summer the internet went nuts when patents came up suggesting a Nike Air Mag “McFly” release. The buzz builds once again with pictures of the DMC-12 x Nike 6.0 “DeLorean Dunk”. This collaboration Dunk with DeLorean takes design cues from the classic car famous from Back to the Future II. The upper is a nod to the car’s stainless steel finish, the seat belt inspires the tongue stamp, the eyestay pays tribute to the doors, and the outsole uses the blocking from the tail lights. This limited edition Dunk drops Black Friday as a quickstrike release at Nike.com, Nike Towns, and select retailers including Salvation in Irvine, CA. Will you be racing to get these?

Californian watch label Nixon has just released its latest model, “The Trader” watch. The Trader is predominantly black with a shiny finish and features a titanium carbide coated case. Waterproof to a depth of 200 meters, each scratch resistant body is individually numbered on the reverse. Again composed from a custom titanium carbide coated stainless steal, the band is to be fastened with a double locking butterfly clasp and inter-changeable PU band complete with stainless steel buckle. The 7 hand watch includes a Swiss quartz chronograph to illustrate the day, date and month and is now available from the UK store for £800 ( Approx. $1280 USD).

The BRS is a shower system that features a transparent tank that divides the shower panel from the washbasin and toilet cistern, back to back. Although this Liteon Awards winning design is intended for water saving means while waiting for your shower water to heat up; I like it for its design layout. The only change I would like to suggest is to have everything on one side, because the back-to-back design limits space usage and will not be feasible for small toilets.

Previously, we gave you a sneak peak of the wooden Dunk Hi sneaker from Japanese artist haroshi. Today, we take a more detailed look at the Nike sneaker.

“The special edition Dunk was actually created from decks belonging to skaters from Nike’s own pro skate team and include boards from the likes of: P-Rod, Lance Mountain, Eric Koston, Brian Anderson, Cory Kennedy and many more. The pair is actually modelled on a pair of haroshi’s own well-worn shoes. These detailed shots, illustrate each of the creases, crimps and even the knotted laces worked into the sculptures. Interestingly the curvature of the decks accurately matches that of the used Dunk, which is portrayed as a hidden message within the art. A second subliminal message is found under X-ray scanning, where “Sole in soul” is revealed, making a pun the skate artwork that finds itself on the underside of the shoe.” Via HS
